About Calgary

Calgary has so much to offer, for everybody!

Employment Opportunities

Calgary’s job market is likely the best in the world. The oil and gas industry is obviously the strongest market. However Calgary has become very diverse with many “white collar” jobs in the down town core, as well as many “blue collar” jobs within construction and the industrial parks located around the city.  Even in a slow economy, Calgary always has jobs available.

In short Calgary = Opportunity

Recreation

Calgary is located only a few miles east from the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  Here you can enjoy skiing, hiking, the tourist town of Banff and Lake Louis and some of the most picturesque scenery the world has to offer; with many Calgary homes offering views of the Rocky Mountains.

Calgary also offers NHL hockey, CFL Footlball and world class winter sporting activities and facilities.  Calgary is also proud to have one of the finest pathways and park systems in North America; including the stampede ground, the Calgary Zoo, Heritage Park and Fish Creek Provincial Park.

Climate

One of the most amazing things about Calgary’s climate is our Chinooks.  During sold winter days we often get a wind from the west that delivers warm pacific air right through the city.  It often goes from below 10 to above 10 (Celsius) within a couple of hours.

As for the summer, it’s fantastic; with temperature often in the high 20-30 range (Celsius) and Sunny.

Real Estate

In 2009 an economist spoke about the forecast of Real Estate in Calgary.  She said that Calgary one day will likely have the most expensive Real Estate in the World!  Her reasoning was that Canada is the least volatile country and has the largest reserves of Oil and natural gas.

Therefore it is the safest place in the world for oil and gas companies to invest and as a result Real Estate on average continues it appreciate in price.
